Having died on April 9, the late Duke of Edinburgh handed away two months wanting what would have been his one hundredth birthday. To commemorate the dear event, it was revealed in a June 10 Instagram post that the Royal Horticultural Society gifted patron Queen Elizabeth II a Duke of Edinburgh rose, named in Philip’s honor, final week. Making issues extra touching, the rose was planted within the East Terrace Backyard at Windsor Fortress, so it would stay close by for the queen.
However that is not all. A donation can even be made to his Award Residing Legacy Fund for each Duke of Edinburgh rose offered.
“Right now, we’re taking a second to acknowledge what would have been our Founder and Patron, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh’s one hundredth birthday,” the charity stated on Instagram. “The Duke was dedicated and passionate concerning the DofE and leaves an unimaginable legacy, empowering younger folks with the arrogance, expertise and resilience to make an actual distinction to themselves and the world round. Thanks, your Royal Highness.”
